Composer workshop
Invent the world with your ears
Composer workshop for non-composers
Have you ever listened to the rhythm of waves breaking and established a connection to the regular blinking of the lighthouse close by? Or do you sometimes listen to the alternating sounds of birds chirping in the wee hours of the morning and coffee machines and internally transform these into your own realm of sound – into your own song, your own symphony? Then you're possibly already a composer without knowing it. If you're interested in intensifying your – conscious or unknowing – acoustic observations, in exchanging thoughts about this with other people and in the next step intervene in your tonal environment by creating sounds, then you are more than welcome to attend the composer workshop!
The workshop is intended for people who have never actively composed and for those who already have certain experiences in listening, acoustics, or creating and composing, and who would like to enhance these experiences.
At the end of the workshop, where the work will be done in different collective and individual phases, the resonate results will be performed as part of the Munich Biennale on June 10, 2018 by the composers themselves and by their musician friends and musician friends of the Biennale.
Managing director: Daniel Ott, composer and artistic director of the Munich Biennale 2018 (together with Manos Tsangaris).
In collaboration with the Munich Biennale, festival of new music theater; with the friendly support of the Department of Arts and Culture of the City of Munich
